In an effort to spruce up the city’s business district, Buena Vista has a program that offers grants to encourage business owners to fix up their buildings’ façades. Last December, property owner Nelson Swartz filed six applications for funding to update the fronts of his buildings on Magnolia and Forest avenues. However, city officials are worried about the dilapidated conditions of the buildings and plan to meet with Swartz’s contractors this evening before making a final decision.
