Buena Vista residents re-elected Lisa Kerr and John Roberts to the city’s school board last night. Kerr and Roberts were the only candidates running for the two positions.
Both will serve a four-year term. Kerr won 1,760 votes. Roberts won 1,485.
Kerr and Roberts candidates began serving on the school board last year to fill unexpired terms of two other members.
Kerr has been on the board since May, while Roberts has been serving since January.
One of the unexpired terms belonged to City Councilman Billy Fitzgerald. He left his position when he was appointed to council last year.
His advice for the two members comes from two years of experience on the school board.
“Vote the way you feel and don’t follow the leader,” he said.
