The Rockbridge County School Board is asking the county to raise teachers’ salaries by $1,200 next year. Salaries for teachers in the county schools are now ranked in the bottom half for the region. The Board of Supervisors would have to approve the hike in wages, which school officials say have stagnated since the 2008 recession.
