RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Gov. Terry McAuliffe says an international company based in Italy is creating 350 jobs in Botetourt County to establish its first U.S. production plant.
ELDOR Corp. will invest about $75 million in the Virginia facility. A news release issued Tuesday from the governor’s office said the international leader in the automotive business makes ignition systems, engine control units and systems for hybrid and electric vehicles.
McAuliffe approved a $3.2 million grant from the state’s Opportunity Fund to assist the county in luring ELDOR to the Roanoke Valley. The company will also receive other incentives.
Rockbridge County Administrator Spencer Suter said ELDOR Corp.’s premiere in America will only minimally affect the Rockbridge area.
“It might provide some opportunities for people within driving distance, but it won’t have much influence on the county.”
