Central Elementary is the biggest of Rockbridge County’s elementary schools. So school officials say it’s high time the school had a garden of its own. With help from Boxerwood Nature Center and volunteers from Washington and Lee University, Virginia Military Institute and the community, the project is underway. As part of a national movement to “go green,” students will learn about how and when to plant, and they should be able to eat what they grow.
