The flu is circulating through the Rockbridge area especially quickly this season. But the flu shot, a vaccine developed every year long before flu season, is only 25 percent effective this time around. Many people who got flu shots are still getting sick. Still, health officials say it is important to get vaccinated.They say a shot can decrease the severity of flu symptoms even if it treats the wrong strain of the virus.
