After a three-year facelift, the Robert E. Lee Hotel in downtown Lexington is ready for guests. The hotel was built in 1926 but had been low-income housing since the 1980s. With the help of some tax breaks from the city, local developer Ugo Benincasa bought the building and began the $5 million renovation. The new hotel has 39 guest rooms, a conference room and an Italian restaurant. Acting Manager Sean Taylor says the hotel is already sold out for local college graduation weekends in May 2015.
