Rockbridge County agricultural and livestock farmers are seeing steady growth. Preliminary results of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s 2012 Census found that Virginia farms experienced an increase in both market value of production and the average value of products sold per farm from 2007 to 2012. Local dairy and hops farmers have taken advantage of new technology, while alpaca farmers have benefited from growing demand for alpaca fiber.
