Will Harris was looking to expand his North-Fork Lumber & Log Homes business, so he purchased the overgrown and vandalized Stillwater Worsted Mills property in Goshen. Then the county promised to help offset Harris’ costs if he agreed to hire at least 10 new workers within five years. Now Harris has a vision of turning 150 acres beyond the plant along the Big Calfpasture River into a tourist spot with vacation cabins. He also plans to make a historic attraction out of the remains of the nineteenth century Victoria Furnace limestone quarry. County officials say Harris’ vision could mean even more jobs.
