A 9-foot-long, 100-pound fiberglass ant on the side of a Goshen water tower is the latest in more than a decade’s worth of April Fools’ Day displays Rockbridge County artist Mark Cline has created. The ant, which took a half dozen people more than an hour and a half to install, rests about 75 feet from the ground at Goshen’s abandoned Stillwater textile factory. Last April Fools’ Day, Cline left a 48-foot-long Cold War-era mock submarine in a lake at Gypsy Hill Park in Staunton. Natural Bridge’s Foamhenge, also a Cline creation, debuted on April 1, 2004.
