History buffs hope to bring Lewis and Clark trail through Lexington

The adventures of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark are well known, but few are familiar with Clark’s return trip through Lexington. Some local history buffs are looking to change that.

A group of Rockbridge residents talked to Lexington City Council last week on behalf of the National Park Service about adding local sites to the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail. With City Council’s support, the National Park Service would have a stronger case to present when it meets with Congress later this year.
