Lexington bridge construction to make route more pedestrian-friendly

The East Nelson Street bridge was closed on Tuesday in preparation for 10 months of demolition and construction. Fairfield Echols, the construction company in charge of the project, expects to complete the new bridge by mid-December. Until then, Washington Street will serve as the main route through town.
