This year marks the 14th time cadets from the Virginia Military Institute have marched in the presidential inaugural parade since 1909.
The cadets began practicing long before Christmas for the big day.
“Telling individuals where to be and when, that’s done by the cadets. They do a lot of work and they’re staying up late at night,” said Col. Stewart MacInnis, Director of Communications and Marketing at VMI.
Although VMI’s winter term began just a week before the Inauguration, the cadets practiced nearly every day leading up to Monday.
