Every day, around nine people drown in the U.S. The majority of those drowning victims never learned how to swim. To combat that statistic, the USA Swimming Foundation started the ‘Make a Splash’ Initiative to raise money for local pools to give swim lessons to those who may otherwise not be able to afford them. The Lexington City Pool held the annual Rockbridge County Pie Festival to raise money for the cause. It was a day full of swimming, games, and of course, pie.
