Lexington city residents might be getting some new neighbors. An ordinance that would allow chickens within city limits is under consideration by the City Council. Hundreds of cities across the nation have passed urban chicken laws to combat rising food costs and abet organic food trends. But citizens’ concerns about noise and sanitation could stall action. A previous City Council refused to allow chickens five years ago.
