On Jan. 29, Washington and Lee’s Mock Convention predicted a win for Mitt Romney in Tuesday’s Florida Republican primary. Political Chair Zach Wilkes, a senior at W&L, began working years ago on the prediction, researching and analyzing previous election results to find voting trends. He worked closely with W&L law student Jeff Wieand to scrutinize candidate fundraising and spending in Florida. Wilkes presented the prediction to his political team on Sunday night, two days before the primary.
