The back room of the Lexington Coffee Shop has been central to the local musicians playing bluegrass music for the past 18 years. It was started by a retired media technician, Dan Newhall.
Burr Datz, Catholic Campus Minister of the St. Patrick Catholic Church and one of the original members, said it was a great way to connect with the community and just have fun.
The jam sessions are unrehearsed with no set play list, surprising the audience each week.
