The Rockbridge Area Shop for Tots made the holiday season for 170 children from Rockbridge County on Monday night.
The organization takes kids from not as fortunate families across Rockbridge County to one of the two Dollar Stores in Buena Vista to buy presents for members of their family–and themselves.
Vice President of The Rockbridge Area Shop For Tots Jim Hudson says the experience is supposed to teach kids the joy of giving during the holiday season.
About 100 volunteers helped the kids at the stores and with wrapping presents. The total cost for the night was about $6,000, which was raised by donations and the organization’s Bingo Fundraiser.
