For years, problems have existed between students who rent houses in the city and their neighbors. But Lexington City Council member Chuck Smith says the city pays close attention to the situation. Every two years, the Planning Commission and City Council review permits for homes that have five or more student renters.
This year, seven houses are up for consideration. Four permits were approved at the last city council meeting and the remaining three will be discussed tonight, at 8 p.m., at the County Administrative building.
