The Rockbridge Area Shop for Tots nonprofit organization held its first 31-Bag Bingo Fundraiser to make up for the lack of outside donations this year. Former President Kim Austin says the organization hasn’t been receiving as many donations because of the struggling economy.

The event brought in $750 for the organization to provide presents for about 100 families in need in the Rockbridge area this holiday season. Shop for Tots lets children pick out a present for each member of their family including themselves. The children will go to one of the two Family Dollar stores in Buena Vista on Dec. 5 to pick out presents.
