Operators of the Maury Express say the bus line provided 1,349 one-way rides to Lexington, Buena Vista and Rockbridge County residents during September. That’s an average of 45 riders per day, with ridership increasing 21 percent from August to September. Lead bus driver George Dudley says many of the Maury Express riders are regulars, or what he likes to call “frequent flyers.” For just 50 cents, riders can take a one-way trip around Lexington or Buena Vista. The Maury Express is run by the non-profit RADAR, a provider of transportation in rural areas.
